Adoptable Dogs
If you have a pet that you would like to have adopted, please send us the following information. Pet's name, sex, breed, description, whether spayed or neutered, whether up-to-date on inoculations, housebroken, general personality, how well the animal gets along with other animals and children, whether or not the animal has been de clawed, and whether or not the animal is an indoor pet or outdoor pet, and how to reach you. Blackjack is male, Black Lab mix, approximately 3 – 4 years old. He is up-to-date on his vaccines. His owner writes: “The dog showed up at the gate of my other dogs’ lot in my back yard a few years back and took to the other dogs as family I guess. He was starving and scared and I put him in the lot to eat. I have been fostering him for all this time asking any and everyone if they wanted him, but no one does. He is not that sociable of a dog. He will eat out of your hand if you have treats but that's about it. We got him to the vet two times by giving him Acepromazine from the vet. It seems that he may have been abused before he arrived at our house. I think someone could work with this dog and make him into a good pet if they had the time. However, I do not have the time. My wife and I are facing a move to Asheville soon and most likely will be in an apartment.” If you are interested in adopting or fostering Blackjack, please call 828-625-9361.

July 12, 2010. Jack is an adult, male yellow lab. Jack showed up trotting down Main Street, Spindale last week, dragging a chain. A kind man stopped his car, and Jack jumped in and went to the man's home. There has been no response to ads in the paper and inquiries at local vets. The foster parent says Jack is very affectionate and eager to please. But Jack cannot stay there since the man is 76 and tending his bed-ridden wife. Jack is an intact male, and appears to be a young adult ~ 1 yr old. This is a courtesy listing. You can contact Sharon at 828-748-0682 if interested in Jack.

Blaze is a 3-year old, foxhound mix, neutered, and current on all shots. He is a high energy dog who needs lots of room to run, either in a fenced in yard or in the country. He is very sweet and loves all people. He is okay with cats. If interested in adopting him, call 828-625-9361.
